London Randoms

We went to London a couple of weeks ago to visit friends and colleagues.

Ian Paley's Garbstore shop is situated in Notting Hill.

We met up with David from Universal Works and had a closer
look at the S/S 10 collection. Some of the styles will hit our store in Jan/Feb.

Tatty Devine is opening up a new shop in Monmouth Street.

YMC recently opened a shop in Poland Street.

Yes, the blow fish lamps are real !

Nice interior.

Next door to the YMC shop is Bodean's - if you like ribs this is recommended.

The Ally Capellino shop in Shoreditch was unfortunately closed.
Anyway, her bags will be available at Scout early next year.

Just around the corner from Ally Capellino is Present.

The Tricker's shop in Jermyn Street.

The new A.P.C. shop lies across the street from Dover Street Market.

Time for a beer at Lamb & Flag.

The Anish Kapoor exhibition at Royal Academy is amazing -
go see it if you are in town.

The last stop was Kenneth MacKenzie's (6876) studio
at the Brunswick centre. His collaboration with Regent Belts (R6)
looked fantastic and will hit the store in Feb.

The horror - Ann-Sofie Back A/W 09

“Ann-Sofie Back burns in hell” is the theme for her Autumn Winter 2009 collection. Drawing inspiration from the U.S. and traditional American stereotypes, although referenced from the less traditional context of horror movies we all watched as teenagers; Poltergeist, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Carrie, Hellraiser, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Evil Dead among others.

Selected pieces are in store and online now.

Peter Jensen A/W 09 "JYTTE"

Peter Jensen's A/W 09 collection is in store now. This season, Jensen's tale is about his Aunt Jytte, who, he relates, "owned a chip shop and cab company in the capital of Nuuk, Greenland, and liked fashion in the seventies." He dedicated this collection to her "because the Danish government paid for me to go to Greenland and the Faeroe Islands to research." Higlights from the collection are chunky knit whale sweaters, beaded cardigans, woolly double-bobble hats (a seal with ears?), over blouses and the "Greenland pattern" printed on silk tops.
